Who is this guy? He ...
- carried out an apprenticeship (Berufsausbildung) for three years as an electrician at the brew company "
Brauerei Diebels" in Issum, Germany.
- studied electrical engineering (communication and electromagnetics) at the
Gerhard-Mercator-Univ. Duisburg,
Germany and at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA,
Microwave Lab) in beautiful southern California, for his Thesis.
- received his Dipl.-Ing. Degree in 2000.
- works as researcher at Duisburg University in Professor Wolff's and Dr. Waldow's group.
- is currently working on numerical techniques for the efficient simulation of electromagnetic fields (electromagnetic field theory,
static and transient finite-difference methods, wavelet based algorithms). On the other hand he is interested in designing
microwave circuits with a focus on printed antennas for mobile communications. Recently our group started working on
metamaterials (composite right/left-handed transmission-lines: CRLH TLs).
- enjoys miscellaneous leisure activties, especially inline skating,
catamaran sailing and canoeing.
